GPs and Nurse Practitioners can speak to a specialist palliative care consultant 24/7 on 1300 PALLDR (1300 725537)

Nurses and Allied Health can speak to a specialist palliative care nurse during business hours on 1300 PALLCR (1300 725527)

PallConsult includes:

• 24/7 telephone hotline for doctors and nurse practitioners to directly access a palliative care medical consultant
• Business hours hotline for nursing and allied health staff to access specialist palliative care staff
• Medical consultant backup palliative care advice for Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics and the Royal Flying Doctors Service
• Education/mentoring sessions for community and residential aged-care facility staff
• Information and resources about advance care planning for consumers and health professionals
• Online education concerning advance care planning
• Online education concerning other aspects of end-of-life care
• Printable resources for staff, patients, residential aged care residents and their families
• Caring@home resources for health professionals and carers

PallConsult is funded by Queensland Health and has been designed to back up the ability of local healthcare teams to deliver patient-centred palliative care, especially in rural and remote parts of the State.
