The clinic is open from 0800 to 1130 and home visits are conducted between 1300 and 1630. The centre is closed on weekends and public holidays. The clinic is staffed by one Clinical Nurse Consultant only. No referral is needed to access this service.

There is parking at the front of the building and public toilets are available, both accessible by a ramp. There are two GP surgery's, pharmacy and ambulance service in Malanda. There is no public transport except for a HACC funded bus which goes to Cairns twice a week and Atherton twice weekly

Mackay Hospital and Health Services Palliative Care offers care and support in Emergency, In-home and Hospital settings along with Palliative Care information and education for patient, carer and family members.

A referral from a GP or other doctor is needed to access the service.

In an emergency the patient can attend the hospital Emergency Department to receive appropriate care and referral.

The Wesley’s palliative care unit has 17 beds, and provides a multidisciplinary service, with medical specialists and registrars, experienced palliative nursing staff, dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurse counsellors and chaplains.

Metro North Palliative Care Service provides inpatient and outpatient care to clients in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.

The Redcliffe team provides service north to Kilcoy. Care is provided at Redcliffe Hospital with regular clinics at Caboolture and Kilcoy.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is part of QLD health ( Metro South hospital and health service) a tertiary level hospital, providing care in all major adult specialties, including Palliative Care.

Moranbah Hospital is a 12-bed facility that provides 24-hour acute and emergency care. Allied health services are provided, including speech pathology, physiotherapy and social work.
