• Resources to support the work of researchers in palliative care.

Advance health directive

An Advance Health Directive allows you to plan what medical treatment or health care you would like in the event that you cannot make decisions for yourself. It also enables you to appoint an attorney for health and personal matters if you want.

Burial Assistance Scheme

More

Burial Assistance Scheme is a service provided by Queensland Government for when you cannot afford a funeral for a relative or friend who passed away in Queensland.
Eligibility for burials assistance

To apply for burials assistance, you need to:
•be a friend or relative of the person who passed away in Queensland
•have spoken to other family members to confirm that no one can arrange or pay for the funeral
•have no prior funeral arrangements
•if you have signed a contract with a funeral director, you must get written approval from the funeral director to release you from the contract.

If you are able to get burials assistance, the Department of Justice & Attorney-General will organise and pay for a simple burial or cremation on your behalf.
